Family of missing Loudoun college student seeks kidnapping investigation in Dominican Republic

  • After three days of searching the waters and shores near a resort beach in Punta Cana, where his daughter was last seen, the father of 20-year-old Sudiksha Konanki of South Riding has asked Dominican Republic officials to widen their investigation into kidnapping and abduction.

The family of 21-year-old Edwin Antonio Anzures, a student at Northern Virginia Community College, is seeking a kidnapping investigation after he went missing in the Dominican Republic. Edwin was last seen on October 10, 2023, when he left his hotel in Santo Domingo to meet someone he had connected with on social media. His family has not heard from him since, and his phone has been turned off. They are concerned for his safety, especially since Edwin had expressed intentions to return to the U.S. to continue his education. The family has reached out to the FBI and the U.S. Embassy for assistance, and they are urging anyone with information to come forward.
