The tenure of Abhay Karandikar, Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), has been extended for an additional year, set to continue until April 2025. This decision was made by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), as announced by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. Karandikar, who assumed the role of DST Secretary in June 2022, is recognized for his contributions to the field of telecommunications, particularly in the development of 4G and 5G technologies.
