After 42 years, North Platte St. Pat's science teacher says goodbye

Jim Bauer's career in education began at St. Pat's in the early 1980s and will conclude with the end of the 2025 school year.

After 42 years of teaching science at North Platte St. Pat's, Mike Spitz, a beloved educator, has retired. Throughout his career, Spitz taught a wide range of subjects including biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science, and was known for his engaging teaching style that included hands-on experiments and field trips. His dedication to education extended beyond the classroom as he also coached various sports and was involved in numerous school activities. Spitz's impact on the school and its students was profound, with many expressing gratitude for his passion and commitment to their learning and development. As he steps into retirement, Spitz plans to spend more time with his family and pursue personal interests, leaving behind a legacy of excellence in education at North Platte St. Pat's.
