  • The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has released the Disaster Narratives for Experiential Knowledge-based Science Communication (DANAS) Sourcebook to strengthen disaster preparedness across the Philippines.

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in the Philippines has launched a multi-language disaster preparedness guide aimed at enhancing public readiness for earthquakes and tsunamis. This initiative, announced on July 10, 2023, includes guides in Filipino, English, and 19 other local languages to ensure that information is accessible to a broader audience, particularly in regions prone to seismic activities. The guide covers essential safety measures like "Drop, Cover, and Hold On" for earthquakes and evacuation procedures for tsunamis. It also provides instructions on how to prepare emergency kits, create family disaster plans, and understand the science behind these natural disasters.
