Sri Lanka once again showcased its scientific prowess at the prestigious 21st Edition of the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) 2024, where six talented young Sri Lankan students brought home three silver medals and three bronze medals,
Sri Lanka achieved a remarkable feat at the 2024 International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) held in Bangkok, Thailand, from December 1 to 9, 2023, by securing two gold medals, one silver medal, and one bronze medal. The gold medalists were Thisas Kalupahana from Ananda College, Colombo, and Senith Dissanayake from Royal College, Colombo. The silver medal was won by Sethmini Fernando from Devi Balika Vidyalaya, Colombo, and the bronze medal went to Sanuthi Abeywickrama from Mahamaya Girls’ College, Kandy. This success highlights the high caliber of Sri Lanka's young scientists on the international stage, showcasing their dedication and the effectiveness of the country's science education programs.
