Paul Weirtz Named President of AT&T Minnesota

In this role, Weirtz will lead AT&T's legislative and community affairs activities in Minnesota. Representing AT&T's interests across the state, he will work closely with community leaders, legislators and other policy makers, as well as local and regional business leaders and customers, to help meet AT&T's objective of connecting people with technology everywhere they live and work.

AT&T recently announced that it has invested more than $400 million in its Minnesota wireless and wireline networks from 2010 through 2012, with a focus on expanding 4G LTE mobile Internet coverage and enhancing the overall performance of its network.

Weirtz comes to Minnesota from AT&T Ohio, where he was director of Government Affairs leading AT&T's state legislative, regulatory and community initiatives in Columbus and across the state. During his AT&T career, Weirtz has worked in a variety of roles with increasing responsibility in external affairs and regulatory affairs.

A native of Akron, Ohio, Weirtz holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and Master's of Public Administration from The University of Akron. An honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp Reserve, Weirtz served stateside during Operation Desert Storm.

Mr. Weirtz, his wife Mary, and their two daughters are relocating to the Minneapolis-St. Paul region.
