Augme Technologies Divests Non-Core Tucson Division

Company Takes Further Step to Focus on Core Operating Business

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Mar 7, 2013) - Augme® Technologies, Inc. (OTCQB: [ AUGT ]) ("Augme") and its wholly owned subsidiary, Hipcricket®, Inc. ("Hipcricket") (collectively "the Company"), a technology leader in mobile advertising and mobile marketing, announced today the divestiture of a non-core division of the Company based in Tucson, Arizona. The Tucson division comprises six professionals who have primarily been involved in the development of new patents and helping Augme generate value from its existing intellectual property portfolio.

This divestiture is part of Augme's broader strategy to focus on its core mobile advertising and mobile marketing business and will save the Company an estimated $1,000,000 annually; thus moving the Company closer to achieving cash flow profitability. This divestiture does not include the sale or license of any intellectual property assets.

"I want to thank Chief Technology Officer Nathan Bradley, Chief Information Officer Jim Crawford, and the entire Tucson team for their many years of service to the Company," said Augme CEO Ivan Braiker. "This divestiture is another step in our strategy to become the leading mobile solutions company in the industry and allows us to cut approximately $1,000,000 of cost annually."

As part of its agreement with the purchaser, Augme has retained the use of the team for ongoing patent matters as needed.
