Radisys to Participate in RCS VoLTE Interoperability Event 2012

HILLSBORO, Ore.--([ ])--[ Radisys Corporation ] (NASDAQ: RSYS), a leading provider of embedded wireless infrastructure solutions, today announced that it is sponsoring and participating in the [ RCS VoLTE Interoperability Test (IOT) Event ] in October 2012. This global multi-vendor interoperability event is organized by the MultiService Forum (MSF), the European Telecoms Standards Institute (ETSI) and the GSM Association (GSMA), and hosted by China Mobile in the China Mobile Research Institute Laboratory in Beijing and by Telecom Slovenia Group in Sintesio, Kranj, Slovenia.

"For test cases requiring real-time media processing, our standards-compliant integration, with the Radisys Software Media Server acting as an IMS MRF, demonstrates the ability of the GENBAND A2 Communications Application Server to support a comprehensive VoLTE and RCS service in a multi-vendor IMS architecture."

Radisys will supply its Software Media Server, along with technical expertise to facilitate rapid integration with other participant equipment in a fully functioning IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) ecosystem environment. The Radisys Software Media Server will be performing as an IMS Media Resource Function (MRF), responding to media processing requests from IMS call control equipment supplied by other vendor participants in this interoperability event. It will support VoLTE announcements and branding service test cases, along with Rich Communications Suite (RCS) call flows under the control of the GENBAND A2a" Communications Application Server. In addition, Radisys will also supply a prototype IMS video application server and video User Element (UE) equipment to demonstrate RCS video sharing, video conferencing, and video transcoding use cases throughout the interoperability event.

The RCS VoLTE IOT Event 2012 will endorse and test a number of GSMA Product Requirement Documents and will validate the Testing Scenarios developed by MSF, ETSI and GSMA to facilitate multi-vendor deployment of LTE, Evolved Packet Core (EPC) and IMS technology for RCS and VoLTE services. The test event, backed by major operators China Mobile, Verizon and Telecom Slovenia, will focus on validating key network interfaces to ensure multi-vendor deployment strategies for RCS, VoLTE, LTE, EPC and IMS technology.
