JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., June 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon Wireless, owner of the nation's largest 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) Network, will bring its 4G LTE network to 46 new markets, including the Jefferson City area, on Thursday, June 21, enabling more customers in more of the United States to take advantage of 4G LTE speeds in their own towns.  With the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network, customers can enjoy the best experience in wireless data usage when they stream video, share music and photos, download files and surf the Web with speeds up to 10 times faster than before. 

On Thursday, the company's 4G LTE network will be available to customers in Jefferson City and west of the city along Highway 50 to Centertown, MO.

In addition to introducing its 4G LTE network in 46 new markets, including Jefferson City, Verizon Wireless is expanding the network in 22 markets already served by the company's 4G LTE network on June 21.  In Missouri, The Lake of the Ozarks area, Lebanon, and West Plains will receive new 4G LTE service and coverage in Springfield, Missouri, will be expanded.  With the new and expanded markets, the company's 4G LTE network will be available in 304 markets, to more than two-thirds of the U.S. population.

4G LTE Coverage and Speed

In real-world, fully loaded network environments, Verizon Wireless 4G LTE customers should experience average data rates of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink.
