RALEIGH, N.C., June 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Elster Group (NYSE: [ ELT ]) today announced that its manufacturing facility in San Luis Potosi, Mexico has received certification from the Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE), North America's largest electric utility. The certification, issued by CFE's Laboratorio de Pruebas de Equipos y Materiales (LAPEM), designates the Elster facility as an approved supplier of electricity meters for the utility.

With this certification, Elster is expanding its production capacity to include electric meters at its San Luis Potosi facility, to meet anticipated growing demand from CFE and other Elster customers in North America. CFE generates, distributes and markets electric power for approximately 34.2 million customers.
