WALNUT CREEK, Calif., April 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon Wireless today announced it is bringing the nation's largest 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network to Visalia, California, in the coming weeks.  With the 4G LTE network, customers can use 4G LTE wireless devices in Visalia to access the Internet faster; listen to music or watch video on their phones; use thousands of apps; and stay in touch with family and friends, all with speeds up to 10 times faster than before.

When Verizon Wireless turns on its 4G LTE network in Visalia, customers who live or visit areas including Visalia, downtown Hanford, Laton, Lemoore, downtown Tulare, Earlimart, parts of Porterville and along Highway 99 will have access to the nation's fastest 4G network.

"The future is here in Visalia and it is Verizon Wireless 4G LTE," said Kevin Zavaglia, region president for Verizon Wireless. "Our commitment to 4G LTE is bringing customers a level of wireless data service with upload and download speeds and connectivity that is revolutionizing the way we communicate."

Since its launch on December 5, 2010, Verizon Wireless has introduced its 4G LTE network to more than 200 million people in 203 markets across the country and supports more than 20 4G LTE devices, including a wide variety of tablets, smartphones, hotspots and more.

In real-world, fully loaded network environments, Verizon Wireless 4G LTE customers should experience average data rates of 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink.
