Recently Consented ITU-T G.9959 Standard Defines Backward Compatibility With More Than 575 Z-Wave Products

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwire - Jan 12, 2012) - CES 2012 -- Sigma Designs, a leader in connected media platforms and home networking technologies, confirmed that the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has developed a new sub 1GHz narrow band wireless standard. The ITU-T G.9959 standard is largely based on the Z-Wave technology and defines backwards compatibility to the Z-Wave standard.
