Drilling Update for A238 Prospect in Mauritania
Forte Energy NL ACN 009 087 852 ASX, AIM and Media Release 10th November 2011 Drilling update for the A238 Prospect in Mauritania ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- International uranium company Forte Energy NL (ASX/AIM: FTE; "Forte Energy" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that the RC drilling programme in Mauritania started on the 17th October 2011: Mauritania * Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling programme started on the 17th October 2011 at the A238 Prospect and a newly identified anomaly situated approximately 800m to the north west of A238 * A total of 23 holes, totalling 2,649m have been drilled up to the 7th November * Scintillometer readings from the RC chip samples have identified zones of mineralisation in 17 holes, near to surface and down to depths of over 200m * Samples have been sent to Zouerate for preparation and will then be sent to the Stewart Group Laboratories in Ireland, with chemical assay results scheduled in December * Analysis of assay results and a resource update from CSA Global Inc (UK) will be announced in Q1 2012. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The start of the RC drilling campaign was focussed on testing the potential extensions of the mineralisation in the A238 Prospect both at depth and to the east and west of the original inferred resource outline. To view Figure 1: Mauritania Forte Energy Licences, please open the following link in a new window: [ http://media3.marketwire.com/docs/forte_1110_uk_fig_1.pdf ] By the 7th November a total of 1,945m (16 holes) had been drilled on the A238 Prospect (See Figure 2), with scintillometer readings identifying zones of mineralisation in 12 of the holes. Representative samples have been sent to Zouerate for preparation and will be sent to the Stewart Group laboratories in Ireland for analysis. Initial chemical assay results are expected in December. In addition to the drilling at the A238 Prospect, a small surface outcrop, approximately 800m to the north west of A238 was targeted and drilled. The first of 7 holes totalling 704m, identified zones of mineralisation from 9m below the surface to 31m and from 43m to 45m. The other 6 holes all intersected potential zones of mineralisation ranging from near to surface down to 170m. A zone of mineralisation potentially trending north west - south east over 200m has now been identified and drilling will continue to test the extensions of the mineralisation. Samples have been collected and are in the process of being sent to the sample preparation facility at Zouerate and initial assay results are anticipated in 5-6 weeks. To view Figure 2: A238 Prospect and A238NW Anomaly - Holes Drilled, please open the following link in a new window: [ http://media3.marketwire.com/docs/forte_1110_uk_fig_2.pdf ] Drilling will continue at the A238NW anomaly testing the potential mineralised zone. Based on the information from the drilling in this area, other anomalies in the vicinity may also be targeted before moving north to the Tisram (284) licence. Commenting on the 2011-2012 drilling campaign Mark Reilly, Managing Director of Forte Energy, stated: "The drilling campaign is progressing well and we are highly encouraged by the consistency of the ore body we are encountering, with 19 out of 23 holes intersecting mineralisation. Our understanding of the geology of the A238 license has significantly improved and we believe the strategy for Forte to substantially increase its resources in the short term remains firmly on track. We look forward to receiving the assay results from A238NW as well as from the A238 Prospect."
