MURRAY HILL, N.J., Jan. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Glowpoint, Inc. (OTCBulletin Board: GLOWD), a leading global provider of cloud-based [ managed video services ] for [ telepresence ], [ video conferencing and collaboration ], today announced that Stephen Vobbe, a veteran in the unified communications industry, has left his post at Cisco to head up Sales and Marketing for the company.

As Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Vobbe will be tasked with leading Glowpoint worldwide sales, channels, marketing, analyst relations and business development.  He will also be a member of the executive committee, which sets strategic direction for the company.

Stephen comes to Glowpoint with more than 17 years experience leading international business development for technology companies.  He has broad experience working in high-growth businesses including sales, marketing, mergers and acquisitions, solution development and strategic alliances. Stephen is leaving a senior management role as Director of the Telepresence Solutions team for Cisco, which he joined through the TANDBERG acquisition.  Stephen was instrumental in driving TANDBERG's growth through key strategic alliances and leading TANDBERG's entrance into the Unified Communications market.
