SAN FRANCISCO--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE:DLB) today announced the appointment of Andy Sherman to the executive team at Dolby as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. He will be responsible for managing the companya™s legal, regulatory, and intellectual property matters and will report to President and CEO Kevin Yeaman.

Prior to joining Dolby, Mr. Sherman held the position of Senior Vice President and General Counsel at CBS Interactive, where he oversaw the legal group advising CBSa™s online entertainment, mobile, technology, sports, news, games, lifestyle, and international business units. He joined CBS Interactive following CBSa™s acquisition of CNET Networks, where he served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. Prior to joining CNET Networks, he held senior legal positions with global responsibility at a variety of public technology companies including Sybase, PeopleSoft, and Epiphany.
Mr. Sherman was in private practice with the law firm Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich (now DLA Piper) in the Silicon Valley, where he specialized in the representation of private and public technology companies in intellectual property and complex technology-related litigation and transactional matters. Mr. Sherman holds a JD from the University of the Pacific, as well as a BS degree in business administration from the University of Southern California.
