RCN PA Televising From Lehigh Valley Memorial Day Tradition, Mayfair Festival, Kicking Off May 27
LEHIGH VALLEY, PA--(Marketwire - May 27, 2010) - [ RCN PA ] (
Now in its 24th year, the festival transforms Cedar Beach Park into a kaleidoscope of sights, sounds, and smells as the area's premier outdoor arts and crafts, music and food festival. Held over Memorial Day weekend, Mayfair kicks off Lehigh Valley's summer festival season, and is expected to top last year's attendance with even greater variety in music and entertainment.
"Mayfair is extremely family friendly and it has something for every age and musical taste. With food vendors, artists and hundreds of activities and performances, attending the event is definitely a worthwhile way to spend Memorial Day weekend without the worry and hassle of extensive travel," said RCN-Pennsylvania Vice President and General Manager Randy Nungester. "We are proud to increase our support of this popular event, giving it the opportunity to grow year after year," Nungester added. "The 2 Days in a Cube contest, which is being presented by the Morning Call, is a fun addition to this year's festival and we're pleased to be one of its sponsors."
Festival-goers can support the five contestants living in the 2010 Nissan Cube (with hopes of winning the car or $5,000) by texting votes for whom they'd like to win. Many of the challenges that the contestants will compete in for new seating will be caught on camera by RCN TV for airing on RCN4 over the weekend. The cameras and internet service used to stream the live action caught on web cams in the car are being provided by RCN. Interviews with each of the contestants are currently available in RCN's On Demand library.
In addition, RCN TV will be providing video feeds from the Cabaret and Sommerfest stages to TVs in the new-to-the-festival Southern Comfort bar.
