Tekelec Appoints Susie Kim Riley, Founder and CTO of Camiant, as Chief Marketing Officer
MORRISVILLE, NC--(Marketwire - May 11, 2010) - [ Tekelec ] (
Tekelec closed the Camiant acquisition on Friday, May 7. The deal brings 30 fixed and mobile broadband policy control customers to Tekelec, including Verizon, Verizon Wireless, Vodafone, Sprint, Comcast and Cox Communications.
In Riley's new position, she will continue to drive policy innovation and the product synergies across mobile and fixed networks with the overall goal of providing the industry with the best-in-class control plane solutions. Tekelec is now the only player in the industry to uniquely blend and capture the synergies among session, policy, subscriber data management, network and business intelligence, and mobile messaging.
"Susie and the Camiant team introduced a new generation of solutions for service providers to manage advanced Internet-based services over broadband networks," said Frank Plastina, Tekelec's president and CEO. "She is the strongest voice for policy control in the industry and will be an asset to customers' efforts to truly capture the value of their network assets and offer compelling new services."
Since founding Camiant in 2003, Riley has been well recognized as the thought leader and key advocate for policy control. She brings more than 15 years of technology innovation and development focused primarily around quality of service and networking, including the early development of routing technology, network processors and policy. Prior to Camiant, she held technical and management leadership roles at ADC Telecommunications (through its acquisition of Broadband Access Systems), Maker Communications/Conexant and Proteon. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.
