GLENTEL Inc. to be inducted into Burnaby Business Hall of Fame

 BURNABY, BC, Aug. 31 /CNW/ - On October 1, 2009, the Burnaby Board of Trade (BBOT) and the City of Burnaby will induct GLENTEL Inc.(TSX: GLN) into the Burnaby Business Excellence Awards Hall of Fame. The BBOT will hold a celebratory luncheon at the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown where Burnaby Mayor Derek Corrigan will personally present the award to make the induction official. Thomas Skidmore, GLENTEL's President and Chief Executive Officer, will accept the award on behalf of the organization. The Hall of Fame award is presented annually to a Burnaby-based business that has demonstrated outstanding success for over twenty-five years and has made a positive and significant impact on the local community. Past winners of this distinction include Electronic Arts Canada, Bosa Properties, and Hemlock Printers Ltd. The luncheon event will also announce the list of businesses that have been nominated and shortlisted to win an award in eight business categories, including Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Business Person of the Year, Burnaby Community Spirit, Business Innovation, Entrepreneurial Spirit, Not-for-Profit Organization of the Year and Environmental Sustainability.
