Wed, February 25, 2009 ERF Wireless Expands Operations in Louisiana and Opens New Office in Baton Rouge
LEAGUE CITY, Texas--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--ERF Wireless (OTCBB: ERFW), a leading provider of enterprise-class wireless broadband products and services, announced today that the company has opened an office in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to provide additional support to the growing ERF Wireless operations in Louisiana that already include four large banking institution wireless networks with branch operations extending across major portions of the state. Specifically, the new ERF Wireless office will assist in the operations and maintenance of the company's current Louisiana banking customers, and will begin selling WiNet wireless broadband services over the growing ERF Wireless-owned US-BankNet network in the state. Personnel assigned to the new office located in the Louisiana Business and Technology Center on the LSU campus will also focus on supporting the company's growing oil and gas customer base that is being developed in Louisiana and many other locations in North America as a result of the recently announced exclusive agreement between ERF Wireless and Schlumberger. Trey Hudzietz, formerly a regional sales executive in the company's West Texas operations, is serving as Regional Manager in the new Louisiana office.
"Prior to working in a sales capacity for ERF Wireless, Trey worked in our West Texas operations department and demonstrated an excellent understanding of the rapidly growing broadband wireless industry," said ERF Wireless Bundled Services CEO Robert "Bobby Mack" McClung, who heads up WISP operations for the company on a national basis as well as WiNet products and services that are sold jointly with regional banks. "Trey will now oversee our Louisiana WISP and WiNet sales operations and will also be working in conjunction with our Louisiana bank and oil and gas customers.
McClung went on to note that the statewide US-BankNet wireless network, which ERF Wireless has been building since 2006 under a cooperative agreement with the Louisiana State Police, continues to expand across the state and will also benefit from a local ERF Wireless presence in Baton Rouge. "Next to Texas, Louisiana is currently our second most active state in sales," said McClung. "A local office was the necessary next step to better serve our increasingly diversified customer base that is projected to produce significantly growing sales revenues in 2009."
