The former ICT Director of Kisumu County, Mr. Robert Wesonga, was arrested for allegedly forging his academic credentials to secure his position, from which he earned over KSh 4 million in salary. The arrest followed an investigation by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) which revealed that Wesonga had used fake certificates to gain employment. He is accused of forging a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Nairobi and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. Wesonga was apprehended at his home in Kisumu and is currently detained at Kisumu Central Police Station, awaiting formal charges. The EACC has also frozen his bank accounts as part of the ongoing investigation into this case of corruption and forgery.
