The U.S. Marine Corps is set to introduce a new mobile command vehicle, the Medium Tactical Vehicle Replacement (MTVR) with a new command and control variant, starting in 2025. This vehicle, developed by Oshkosh Defense, will enhance the Marine Corps' ability to manage operations in austere environments by providing a mobile command center equipped with advanced communication and control systems. The initiative aims to replace older, less capable vehicles with a more robust, survivable, and technologically advanced platform that can support expeditionary advanced base operations (EABO) and other distributed operations. The new MTVR variant will feature improved power generation, satellite communications, and a modular design allowing for mission-specific configurations, thereby increasing operational flexibility and effectiveness in various combat scenarios.
