Pegasystems Recognized as a Leader in BPM Suites by Independent Analyst Firm

Solution Ranked Highest Among All Vendors in Current Offering

CAMBRIDGE, MA--(Marketwire - Mar 12, 2013) - [ Pegasystems Inc. ] (NASDAQ: [ PEGA ]), the leader in [ Business Process Management ] (BPM) and a leading provider of [ Customer Relationship Management ] (CRM) solutions, announced it was named a leader in the Forrester Research, Inc., report, The Forrester Wave™: BPM Suites, Q1 2013. The report ranked ten vendors based on extensive set of evaluation criteria. Pegasystems was ranked by Forrester as highest among all vendors in the current offering category.

Forrester sees the BPM industry maturing to "help the enterprise embrace and adapt to disruptive forces of change -- technological, competitive, and regulatory -- that are often unknown and unforeseen."1 The report continues to say, "BPM today plays a critical role in driving customer experience initiatives. These initiatives range from companies looking to overhaul customer service processes to companies seeking to deliver more compelling experiences that incorporate big data analytics and real-time guidance. Leading BPM suite vendors are beginning to blur the line between customer experience design and business process design."1

According to the report, Pegasystems "has focused on merging customer experience and process transformation software categories. Key to this shift, is Pegasystems' 'next-best-action' capability, which uses a sophisticated correlation engine to predict and recommend the next recommended step a user should take for a given process." 1 Pegasystems leads in the report against all vendors in architecture, work management, authoring environment, work patterns, and product strategy. The report concludes, "Pegasystems has set a new standard for empowering business architects to design and execute business change programs."1

"This year's Forrester BPMS Wave highlights some trends that we think are extremely important," said Alan Trefler, Founder and CEO of Pegasystems. "For one thing, the analysts have stressed how necessary it is for vendors to offer business strategy mapping and empowerment to business users. BPM can't be kept a back office secret; it needs to move right into the board rooms with tools to capture business goals and drive innovation tied to business outcomes that show up on corporate balance sheets. They also get it right by saying that organizations still struggle with moving from BPM projects to enterprise-wide transformation programs. We also emphatically agree with the emphasis that Forrester has placed on customer engagement."
