MeetMe® Bridges Online and Offline Social Discovery With Launch of Photoboard

New Photo-Sharing Feature Facilitates Real-World Socializing, Starting in 500 Bars Across the US

NEW HOPE, PA--(Marketwire - Oct 18, 2012) -  MeetMe (NYSE MKT: [ MEET ]), the public market leader in social discovery, today announced the launch of Photoboard, a feature that enables meeting new people and making new friends through photos tagged by location. Photoboard launches today on iPhone and Android and will begin rolling out to digital screens in more than 500 bars across the United States next week.

"We think of MeetMe as the digital re-imagination of the bar or coffeehouse -- the social gathering place for a mobile generation," says Geoff Cook, COO & President, Consumer Internet of MeetMe, Inc. "Photoboard will bridge online and offline social discovery by showcasing the photos of people interested in meeting new friends within the most popular of physical meeting places: the bar."

MeetMe has partnered with Zoom Media & Marketing to put Photoboard on digital screens in 560 bars in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas, San Francisco, Boston, Washington, DC, Atlanta, Houston, and Miami. Patrons aged 21 and older will be able to snap photos with their iPhone or Android phones and put themselves on the Photoboard screens for everyone to see.

"With nearly 300,000 photos uploaded every day, Photoboard solves the chicken-and-egg problem associated with so many other mobile photo sharing applications," added Cook. "We are growing by more than 1 new member every second on average and already have the scale to provide an engaging experience to members. With Photoboard, we look forward to further improving our profile density and hyperlocal matching capability within 11 major cities."

Photoboard will be launching soon on MeetMe for iPad as well.

"Our network of digital screens in bars across the U.S. reaches a young and active audience at their most social -- spending time with friends and making new ones," said Fred Schonenberg, EVP National Sales, Zoom Media & Marketing. "The MeetMe Photoboard is a fun, attention-getting platform that will enhance the bar patron experience while helping to introduce MeetMe to this very hard to reach audience."
