CGI's ERP Program Honored as "Best Fit Integrator" for 5th Year by the Center for Digital Government

Nominated by State of Maine and City of Los Angeles for successful built-for-government CGI Advantage™ ERP implementations

FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 4, 2012) - CGI Group Inc. (NYSE:GIB)(TSX:GIB.A), a leading provider of information technology and business process services, has received two 2012 "Best Fit Integrator" awards from the Center for Digital Government (CDG). The awards honor technology firms nominated by their public sector clients for tailoring solutions to the unique needs of government. This is the fifth year CGI has been recognized as a top integrator by its CGI Advantage enterprise resource planning (ERP) clients and the CDG.

This year, CGI was nominated by the State of Maine and the City of Los Angeles for financial and administration system improvements using CGI Advantage ERP solutions. CGI previously received awards for its ERP work with the Counties of Los Angeles, Monterey and Orange in California, the City and County of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Wake County, North Carolina.

For its cloud-based ERP solution for the State of Maine, CGI received the CDG's Performance Award in Finance & Administration which recognizes innovative yet practical solutions resulting in substantial improvements in financial or operational performance and service delivery capacity. CGI collaborated with the State, a partner since 1989, to secure the long-term viability of their financial management and procurement system in light of economic and staffing challenges. CGI upgraded and transitioned the system to its CGI Advantage purpose-built and secure cloud in just 12 months.

"CGI and the State of Maine have developed a true partnership that has been reaffirmed through this ERP project," said Terry Brann, State of Maine Controller. "This is one of our most successful IT engagements due in no small part to the caliber of CGI staff, their proven methodology, and their ongoing governance model. CGI's innovative approach and responsibility for all solution elements enables them to provide committed service levels while reducing total cost of ownership and deferring initial spend."

For its ERP modernization program with the City of Los Angeles, CGI received the CDG's Modernization Award in Finance & Administration which recognizes an integrator's role in extending the value of existing systems and preparing them for further public service delivery. A CGI client since 1986, the City partnered with CGI to implement its modern, web-based Financial Management System (FMS) using CGI Advantage ERP. CGI's comprehensive implementation blueprint included a critical focus on engaging stakeholders across all 42 City departments. FMS replaced the City's 25+ year legacy system and other redundant systems while improving management accounting practices and controls. The new system has already processed over $45 billion in transactions.

"When it comes to complex ERP modernization initiatives, you want a single point of accountability and built-for-government technology to minimize risk and maximize results," said Randi Levin, Former Chief Technology Officer and General Manager, City of Los Angeles. "With CGI, we are fortunate to have both an accountable partner and the best-fit ERP solution."

"The CGI Advantage program is honored to receive national recognition from our clients year after year for our ERP implementation success," said Daniel Keene, Vice-President of the CGI Advantage program. "CGI is proud to continue our long-standing partnership with the State of Maine by delivering CGI Advantage ERP in the cloud. For the City of Los Angeles, CGI took a large, complex ERP project and made it manageable, bringing FMS live and delivering on-budget."
