aDigital broadcasting continues to put consumers in the driveras seat with expanding options to personalize their viewing experiences; allowing them to watch what they want, when they want,a stated Brian Towne, executive vice president and chief operating officer at DTS, Inc. aWith this increased flexibility, viewers demand premium-quality audio to enrich their overall entertainment experience. The new ATSC and ATIS guidelines provide consumers with more control when viewing television programming on fixed-location and mobile devices. Through ATSCas new standard, designated as A/103, broadcasters can transmit file-based content with rich DTS audio in non-real-time (NRT), making it readily available at any time via streaming delivery or download. As such, ATSCas NRT standard reaches beyond traditional programminga"such as entertainment, news and sportsa"to video-on-demand, emergency alerts, breaking news and even digital signage, making it a key element in the emerging ATSC 2.0 broadcast services standard. ATIS defines guidelines for media formats and protocols in the delivery of IPTV services, which includes pay-per-view programming.

The DVB Audio Toolbox enables IPTV and broadcast operators to deliver a rich, scalable audio experience with the added entertainment value of DTS audio. The inclusion of DTS high definition audio solutions expands DTS' presence within the DVB specification.
