Lawson Know-How From CIBER Improves Process Flow For Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District

GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo., April 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- A large supplier of irrigation and municipal water in Colorado will soon see dramatic improvements in workflows and decision-making capabilities. The advances will come when CIBER completes an implementation of Lawson ERP software for Human Resources, Financials and Supply Chain Management/Procurement. Slated to go live in October, the new system will replace homegrown applications and manual processes now on tap at Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District (Northern Water, [ www.northernwater.org ]), a public agency that delivers water to more than 640,000 acres of irrigated agricultural land and some 850,000 people in Northeastern Colorado.

The implementation follows CIBER's successful assessment of Northern Water's technological capabilities as well as planning and design of the ERP system. Along with automating processes, the implementation will support rigid reporting requirements and facilitate more accurate, accessible data to support business insights and timely billing of the many municipal water providers served by Northern Water.

CIBER's planning approach harnessed the consulting company's proven methodologies, which included a rigorous evaluation of existing systems so that reusable assets could be leveraged. "We were looking for a better, more automated approach to running our organization," said Brad Wind, deputy manager of Northern Water's Operations Division. "We were impressed with CIBER's methodology, which focused on our business processes before moving on to system configuration. We're now confident that the technology we're implementing will drive greater efficiency in our business and more value for our utility customers."

"Our work with Northern Water draws on our deep experience working with clients in the public sector and our long established and hard-earned expertise with Lawson software implementations," said Beth Dvoracek, who leads CIBER's Lawson practice.  "It also reinforces our methodology to drive a consistent and repeatable delivery approach by mapping future processes, then configuring software to drive them."

CIBER's partnership with Lawson dates back to 1995 and, as one of Lawson's largest partners, CIBER supports full-scale business transformation projects through business process calibration, change management, as well as functional and technical services around Lawson technology. The Lawson experts on CIBER's team have enhanced client systems capabilities through more than 1.5 million consulting hours. As the result of a recent transaction, Lawson is now combined with Infor, solidifying Infor as the third largest enterprise software company.

CIBER is exhibiting at Inforum from April 22-25 at the Denver Convention Center in Booth 520. For more information visit CIBER's website at  [ http://www.ciber.com/events/inforum2012/ ].
