Final Assay Results from A238 Prospect in Mauritania
Forte Energy NL ACN 009 087 852 15th March 2012 ASX, AIM and Media Release Final Assay Results in Mauritania at the A238 Prospect confirm mineralisation at depth and along strike International uranium company Forte Energy NL (ASX/AIM: FTE; "Forte Energy" or "the Company") announces positive assay results from the final seven holes from the recent Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling programme completed at the A238 Prospect in Mauritania. The assay results from the programme have confirmed the extension at depth below the existing resources in the southern section of the A238 Prospect. Thirteen of the holes have identified mineralisation extending to over 200m from surface over a strike length of 1.2km. Assay results from RC 175 and 176 drilled to the west of the A238NW have confirmed zones of mineralisation from 75m down to 130m below surface, with RC 175 intersecting 42m @ 437ppm U308 from 90m. A 2,000m RC drilling programme has been started to test the down dip extensions to the north of the southern zone over 1.0km, which was previously only drilled down to 50m from surface. Further drilling, estimated at 2,500m is also planned before the end of May to test the down dip extensions along strike to the north and south, which have not been tested at depths below 50m from surface. Highlights * Final assay results from the recent RC drilling campaign have been received. Notable intersections include: - RC 169: 10m @ 268ppm U308 from 60m and 14m @ 557ppm U308 from 120m. - RC 170: 12m @ 230ppm U308 from 97m - RC 175: 42m @ 437ppm U308 from 92m - RC 176: 19m @ 366ppm U308 from 100m and 9m @ 307ppm U308 from 132m. * RC 169 drilled in the main zone of the A238 Prospect confirmed down dip extensions of the mineralisation to over 100m from surface. * Assay results from RC 175 and RC 176 drilled on the western side of the A238NW anomaly have confirmed mineralisation at depths from 75m to 125m below surface. * Compilation of the A238 resource incorporating all of the recent drilling campaign assay results is progressing well and is scheduled to be completed before the end of the month. Mauritania The Company has now received the final assay results from the Stewart Group Laboratories in Ireland for the final seven holes (RC 169, 170, 171, 173, 174, 175 and 176) from the 63 hole programme drilled at the A238 Prospect. To view Figure 2: A238 Holes drilled at Depth, please open the following link in a new window: [ http://media3.marketwire.com/docs/fte315_fig_2.pdf ] RC 169 is one of a number of holes that have been drilled to depth in the southern part of the A238 prospect. 13 of the holes have indicated that the mineralisation extends down to depths of over 200m from the surface and over a strike length of 1.3km (see Figure 2). To view Figure 3: A238 Section L43, please open the following link in a new window: [ http://media3.marketwire.com/docs/fte315_fig_3.pdf ] Assay results were received from four holes drilled to the north of the A238 Prospect (RC 170, 171, 173 and 174), which indicated narrow intermittent zones of mineralisation with a wider zone identified in RC 170 from 97m of 12m @ 230ppm U308. The current drilling programme as it moves to the north should confirm if these holes were drilled deep enough. Extremely encouraging assay results were received from RC 175 and RC 176 drilled to the west of the A238 Prospect in the A238NW anomaly. RC 175 intersecting mineralisation from 92m over 42m @ 437ppm U308 and RC 176 drilled 100m to the south intersecting 19m @366ppm U308 from 100m. To view Figure 4: A238NW Anomaly Section L14, please open the following link in a new window: [ http://media3.marketwire.com/docs/fte315_fig_4.pdf ] CSA Global are in the process of compiling the A238 Prospect resource update and interpretation, which at this stage suggests that the style of mineralisation is a number of sub vertical mineralised zones that extend to depth from surface. Assay results from the deeper holes also suggest that the grades increase at depth (See Appendix 1). The updated resource is on schedule to be completed by the end of March and will incorporate the assay results from the 63 holes drilled in the initial drilling programme. The company has started a short RC drilling campaign (~2,000m) to drill the area to the north of section L43, which was previously only drilled to 60m below the surface, which will be followed by approximately 2,500m of RC drilling which will test the extensions along strike to the south and to the north. The current drilling campaign is scheduled to be completed by mid-May and the results would then be incorporated into another resource calculation. Commenting on the drilling programme in Mauritania, Mark Reilly, Managing Director of Forte said: "These results continue to confirm our geological model of significant mineralisation beneath the existing JORC resource at the A238 deposit in Mauritania. The orebody is also open to the north west and to the south east which adds further comfort to the understanding of this deposit. We look forward to providing a JORC resource update later this month for A238."
