HONOLULU, Dec. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Calling, downloading apps and surfing the web on the Verizon Wireless 3G network is now easier and faster for residents and travelers in Honolulu, thanks to three new cell sites:
- Waikiki - This site improves 3G wireless capacity in the Waikiki area along Ala Wai Boulevard and Kalakaua Boulevard, Saratoga Road, Kalia Road, and Hobron Lane.
- Honolulu– This site improves 3G wireless coverage and capacity in the Kapahulu, Kaimuki, and Date Street area.
- McCully and Moiliili – This site improves 3G wireless coverage and capacity along Metcalf Street, Date Street, Isenberg Street, and Hauoli Street.
Since being founded in 2000, Verizon Wireless has invested more than $6.5 billion in its California network. Nationally, the company has invested more than $65 billion over that same period to increase the coverage and capacity of its network, and to add new services.
The network upgrade is part of the company's ongoing investment to keep improving and strengthening the nation's largest and most reliable 3G wireless network.
