The U.S. Government's Department of Homeland Security Accredits its DEFIMNET Platform
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 25, 2011) - Route1 Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ROI) a security and identity management company, today announced that it has recently been informed by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) that its DEFIMNET has received an Authority To Operate (ATO) from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). With this ATO, Route1 can now provide its highly secure remote access and identity management solution to employees and contractors of DHS.
In April 2009 CBP acquired and Route1 installed a DEFIMNET at one of the DHS data centers. The Route1 DEFIMNET is an identity and entitlement management platform originally developed to support the requirements of the military defense users, but also able to operate within all levels of classified and unclassified networks. This is the first Route1 DEFIMNET that has received an ATO from the U.S. government. CBP has approximately 8,150 paid, active TruOFFICE subscribers attached to the CBP DEFIMNET.
"We look forward to working with CBP and other DHS components with our current platform, as well as helping to evolve the Route1 technology so remote access can continue to be an effective, progressive solution that provides the necessary high security, the required user functionality and a tool to reduce capital and operating costs for government users," said Tony Busseri, CEO of Route1. "We also understand very clearly the responsibility a relationship with CBP and DHS entails."
