INDIANAPOLIS--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Interactive Intelligence (Nasdaq: ININ), a global provider of unified IP business communications solutions, has named the winner of its [ aOutrageous Interactionsa video contest ].

"The Interactive Intelligence video contest is a great example of how vendors can engage people in a way that gives value to both online content providers and consumers"

The winning submission, titled aOn Holda ([ http://www.oivideocontest.com/index.html ]) by Tim Merlau, fictitiously depicts a customer named aDana whoa™s been on hold since January 2005.

The winner was announced in front of a crowd of approximately 500 people yesterday at the annual Interactive Intelligence User Forum held in Indianapolis, Indiana.

aThe aOn Holda™ video is a deserving winner of our contest due to its relevant theme and the humor with which ita™s depicted,a said Interactive Intelligence chief marketing officer, Joe Staples. aFrom the very first scene with a disheveled Dan in a bathrobe cradling the phone in his hand like a third appendage, this video perfectly spoofs the experience of being on hold. Whether you relate to Dana™s story as a customer or a call center agent, trust me, this three-minute video promises to entertain.a

In addition to producing the winning video submission, Tim Merlau and his team of five produced another entertaining [ aacceptance speecha video ].

aWe had a blast making these videos and want to thank Interactive Intelligence for giving us the opportunity to continue to hone our film-making skills,a Merlau said. aA few of us were able to bring some actual call center experience to bear for this video, but mostly we all related to the frustration of being put on hold a" and the fun that can be had by transforming that into something creative.

aThe Interactive Intelligence video contest is a great example of how vendors can engage people in a way that gives value to both online content providers and consumers,a Merlau concluded.

The Interactive Intelligence [ aOutrageous Interactionsa video contest ] built on the vendora™s first contest two years ago that solicited written entries for outrageous [ call center stories ] as seen through the eyes of customer service reps. aOur goal for both contests was to raise the [ call center ] industrya™s visibility in a way that was fun and entertaining to all,a Staples said.

The Interactive Intelligence [ video contest ] was launched last year and open to the general public via online submissions. Videos could be based on real or fictitious scenarios that showcased a humorous and entertaining interaction between a caller and a call center agent, telemarketer, or automated voice system.

The winning video was selected based on a majority of votes by a panel of industry experts, including call center-focused analysts, consultants, and media.
