If you watched the Super Bowl last week, you may have seen shots of a bionic arm in a piece narrated by Brad Pitt titled "What It Means to Be American on Super Bowl Sunday."

The University of Utah is employing advanced technology, reminiscent of science fiction, to assist veterans in overcoming physical and mental challenges. Through the university's NeuroRobotics Lab, veterans are fitted with exoskeletons that help them regain mobility and strength, particularly beneficial for those with spinal injuries or amputations. Additionally, the lab uses virtual reality to treat conditions like PTSD, allowing veterans to confront and manage their traumas in a controlled environment. This innovative approach not only aids in physical rehabilitation but also supports mental health recovery, showcasing the potential of cutting-edge technology in improving the lives of veterans.
