The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in India has successfully developed an indigenous version of paracetamol, as announced by Union Minister Jitendra Singh. This development marks a significant step towards reducing India's dependency on imported Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), particularly in light of global supply chain disruptions. The initiative was part of a broader push for self-reliance in pharmaceuticals, spurred by the challenges faced during the Covid-19 pandemic.
