Taiwan is currently in discussions with Amazon's Project Kuiper to potentially integrate its satellite internet services into the country's telecommunications infrastructure. This initiative aims to enhance Taiwan's internet connectivity, particularly in remote and underserved areas, by leveraging low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites. The talks come at a time when Taiwan is looking to bolster its digital resilience amid geopolitical tensions with China. Project Kuiper, Amazon's answer to SpaceX's Starlink, plans to deploy thousands of satellites to provide global broadband coverage. The collaboration could also involve testing and regulatory frameworks to ensure seamless integration with existing telecom systems in Taiwan.
