MALVERN, PA--(Marketwire - March 25, 2009) - Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: [ VSH ]) today announced that its SiR440DP 20-V n-channel TrenchFET® Gen III power MOSFET was chosen as a winner of Electronic Products China magazine's 2008 Product of the Year Awards.

The editors of Electronic Products China evaluated hundreds of products launched in 2008 on the basis of innovative design, significant advancement in technology or application, and substantial achievement in price and performance. Vishay's SiR440DP was selected because of its demonstrated success in the power MOSFET category.

Vishay's SiR440DP offers the industry's lowest on-resistance and on-resistance times gate charge, a key figure of merit (FOM) for MOSFETs in dc-to-dc converter applications, for a device with this voltage rating in the PowerPAK® SO-8 package type. The power MOSFET features a maximum on-resistance of 2.0 milliohms at a 4.5-V gate drive and 1.55 milliohms at a 10-V gate drive. On-resistance times gate charge is 87 at 4.5 V.
