The Illinois Junior Academy of Science State Fair was held earlier this month at the University of Illinois.

Northbrook Junior High School's science students excelled at the 2023 Science Fair held at the Chicago Botanic Garden, securing 22 gold awards across various categories. The event, which took place on March 11, saw participation from 35 students who competed in areas such as Behavioral and Social Sciences, Chemistry, and Environmental Science. Notable winners included eighth-graders like Aanya Insan and Aarna Shah in Behavioral and Social Sciences, and seventh-graders like Aarna Shah and Aanya Insan in Chemistry. The school's science department chair, Jennifer de Moya, praised the students' dedication and the supportive role of their families and teachers in their success.
