Prof Siddu Payappa Algur is appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Kerala (CUK), Kasaragod
Professor Siddu Payappa Algur has been appointed as the first Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Kerala with a science background, marking a significant shift in the university's leadership. Previously, the university had Vice-Chancellors from humanities and social sciences. Algur, who holds a PhD in Computer Science from IIT Kharagpur, has a rich academic history including positions at Karnatak University, Dharwad, and as a visiting scientist at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
