Enhanced IDENTIKEY Federation Server offers extended support for application... -- OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. and ZURICH, March 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --

OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. and ZURICH, March 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- VASCO Data Security International, Inc. (Nasdaq: [ VDSI ]) ([ www.vasco.com ]), a leading software security company specializing in authentication products, announces today the launch of its updated IDENTIKEY Federation Server version 1.2. IDENTIKEY Federation Server is VASCO's authentication and access management server, designed to validate user login on web-hosted applications.

IDENTIKEY Federation Server is used to validate user credentials across multiple applications and disparate networks. The solution validates users and creates an identity ticket enabling web single sign-on for different applications across organizational boundaries. The solution is extremely well suited for large corporations, governments, non-profit organizations and educational institutions looking to secure and manage access to different web-based applications and portals. The single administrative interface and user repository relieve administrators from the cumbersome task of maintaining diverse password databases and different authorization and authentication policies for each application separately.

The newest version of IDENTIKEY Federation Server works seamlessly together with the ADFS 2.0 software component, offering integrated single sign-on services for well-known applications such as Office 365. The web single sign-on feature provided by IDENTIKEY Federation Server greatly enhances end-user experience. End-users saves time by sidestepping different logon procedures and do not need to memorize several password and username combinations.

Furthermore, VASCO enables integrated support for OAuth identity and service providers. OAuth 2.0 is an open authentication protocol which enables applications to access each other's data. By integrating this support feature, customers can deploy VASCO's MYDIGIPASS.COM two-factor authentication in combination with their web hosted applications and IDENTIKEY Federation Server.

VASCO has further optimized support for Google Apps and Salesforce.com by providing preconfigured configuration pages providing customers with a smoother integration experience and a faster installation process.

"VASCO commits itself once more to improve user convenience while maintaining high standard security levels with this enhanced version of IDENTIKEY Federation Server," says Jan Valcke , President and COO of VASCO." The increasing number of web applications that each require separate login procedures drives the demand for identity management and single sign-on solutions. IDENTIKEY Federation Server in combination with VASCO'S two-factor authentication creates the ultimate time-saving and cost-efficient single sign-on environment allowing companies to reallocate their resources and focus on their core business."
