Mr. Schramm was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer and director of Maxwell Technologies in July 2007. Mr. Schramm graduated from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, and earned a Master's degree in Management as a Sloan Fellow at Stanford University. He started his career with the Packard Electric Division of General Motors, where he held several positions, including Plant Manager, Component Operations, and Chief Engineer, Component Design. Before moving to California to be the President and CEO of another GM subsidiary, Packard Hughes Interconnect, Mr. Schramm spent three years in the U.K. as Managing Director for GM subsidiaries in Ireland and England. Immediately prior to joining Maxwell, he was President and CEO of a division of EADS and before that was President and CEO of Arrowhead Products where he acquired operations in Italy, France, and Poland and opened a facility in South Africa. Mr. Schramm is past President of the Orange County Performing Arts Business Partnership, served on the Board of Directors of Orange County Performing Arts, is past Chairman of the Saddleback Valley YMCA Board of Managers, a member of the Dean's Advisory Board of the College of Business and Economics at University of California Irvine, a board member of CalIt2, president of the Mission Viejo Country Club board of directors, past President of the Western Reserve Council of the Boy Scouts, and a past member of the Board of Directors of the United Way and the American Cancer Society of Trumbull County, Ohio.
