New Unisys Intelligent Application Alignment Service Cuts Time for Migrating Applications to the Cloud

BLUE BELL, Pa., Nov. 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Unisys Corporation (NYSE: [ UIS ]) today announced the [ Unisys Intelligent Application Alignment Service ], a new packaged service that helps organizations dramatically reduce the time needed to migrate key applications to a cloud-based delivery model.

With the rise of cloud computing, organizations now have more options than ever for hosting their software applications and delivering cost-efficient IT services to their end users. However, the process of evaluating, prioritizing and moving applications to the right delivery model can be time-consuming and expensive, especially when done through traditional consulting engagements.

Unisys Intelligent Application Alignment Service – the latest addition to the [ Unisys Hybrid Enterprise ]solutions for cloud computing – simplifies that process. The service uses automated software tools to discover and document an organization's full inventory of applications and workloads. It evaluates each application using rules derived from industry best practices as well as client-business priorities, such as the criticality and the impact of a given application to the business.

The service then recommends the best delivery method for each application – data center, private cloud or hybrid cloud, for example – based on factors such as service level agreements, compliance, operational efficiency and return on investment. The service blueprints the desired end state, enabling the application to be migrated to the recommended delivery model without degradation in performance.
