TOPEKA, Kan., Jan. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon Wireless announced today that it has awarded a Verizon Foundation grant of $30,000 to the Kansas Department of Education. The grant will be used to train teachers on Common Core Standards for English Language Arts and Mathematics adopted in October 2010, and to assist with the implementation phase of the initiative.
