Suntech, the world's largest panel producer, recently announced they had passed the five Gigawatt mark for installed panels. Although Suntech is the largest solar panel manufacturer, they and other companies with operations in China have come under fire from other panel manufacturers, claiming that because of government subsidies they are selling their products at unfairly low prices. However, as it pans out, the price of solar panels has come down significantly which could benefit many in the industry, as well as the industry itself.
