QHR';s EMR Division Achieves Ontario EMR Specification 4.0

KELOWNA, BC, Sept. 1, 2011 /CNW/ - (TSX-V: QHR) QHR Technologies Inc. ("QHR" or the "Company") a leader in the Canadian Healthcare Information Technology sector, is pleased to announce today that its EMR division Optimed Software Corporation ("Optimed") has completed and passed the validation testing process for Ontario's EMR Specification 4.0 and has been Conditionally Approved. OntarioMD, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Ontario Medical association, manages eHealth Ontario's EMR Adoption Program, which funds and assists physicians to acquire, implement and adopt IT.

Optimed has made the required changes to Accuro® EMR software to meet the Ontario EMR Specification 4.0 requirements and is proceeding to the "live" pilot phase.  At this time, Accuro is listed as a Conditionally Approved product on the OntarioMD website in the EMR Advisor section and can be viewed at [ https://www.emradvisor.ca/node/525 ].  Once the "live" pilot phase has been completed successfully, Accuro® EMR will be Funding Eligible.

Accuro® EMR has been an approved CMS Specification 3.0 EMR product offering eligible for funding within the province of Ontario since November 25, 2010. New physician client agreements for funding of Ontario's current Specification 3.0 offering continue until January 2012.

With current round conformance and funding eligible status in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario along with eligibility for BC's PITO Alternative Specialist Funding Program Optimed is emerging as Canada's leading national EMR vendor.  Currently Optimed services over 4,000 physicians on our product offerings.

By joining Optimed, they are part of the over 4,000 physician clients who have made Accuro® EMR one of Canada's most widely used EMR systems.  Being a strong vendor in larger markets such as Ontario provides some national stability for the clients to partner with in automating their medical practices.

The company also announced on August 24, 2011 that it has achieved the ISO 13485:2003 certification, which is a mandatory requirement for Ontario EMR Specification 4.0.
