ATLANTA--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--[ Acuity Brands, Inc ]. (NYSE: AYI), (aCompanya), a market leader in innovative energy-efficient lighting and control solutions, has received expanded accreditation from the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (aNVLAPa) for testing of LED products for conformance to the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (aIESNAa) LM-79 standard. NVLAP is administered by the National Institute of Science and Technology (aNISTa) and evaluates the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. NVLAP's accreditation programs are established in response to Congressional mandates, administrative actions by the Federal Government,and requests from private-sector organizations and government agencies.

[ Acuity Brands ] was one of the first luminaire manufacturers to attain NVLAP accreditation. Since 1995, the Company has maintained continuous certification in the category of aEnergy Efficient Lighting Productsa for luminaires using fluorescent light sources. It later added certification for testing of incandescent and high intensity discharge (aHIDa) light sources, enabling its lab to provide complete accredited testing for all Acuity Brands luminaires in those categories. This new NVLAP LED product testing accreditation affirms the Companya™s continued adherence to the highest standards of integrity in test and measurement reports. - Total Flux measurement for luminous efficacy (IESNA LM-79:2008 (Sec.9))
- Luminous intensity measurement for photometric distribution (IESNA LM-79:2008 (Sec 10))
- Color measurements
- Color (Correlated Color Temperature) (IESNA LM-79:2008 (Sec 12), IESNA LM-58:1994, IESNA LM-16:1993, and CIE Pub. 15:2004)
- CRI (CIE Pub. 13.3:1995)
- Electrical measurements including volts, amps, watts and power factor (ANSI C82.77:2002, ANSI C82.2:2002)
