Park Electrochemical Corp. Announces the Appointments of Senior Technical Positions

MELVILLE, N.Y.--([ BUSINESS WIRE ])--Park Electrochemical Corp. (NYSE-PKE) announced the appointments of Dr. Ke Wang as its Director of Research and Development and W. Douglas Leys as Director of Advanced Material Applications.

Dr. Wang will oversee all research and development and product development activity for Park and will provide a technical interface between the research and development functions in the United States and the research and development functions in Singapore. Mr. Leys will be responsible for new product applications, customer product assistance, product qualifications with Underwriters Laboratories and Company technology presentations. Dr. Wang and Mr. Leys will report to Patrick T. Crowley, Parka™s Vice President of Research and Development.

Prior to this appointment, Dr. Wang was the Technology Director of Parka™s Nelco Products Pte. Ltd. business unit in Singapore. Prior to joining Nelco Products in Singapore in September 2006, Dr. Wang was a senior research engineer at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering in Singapore from June 2003 to September 2006, a post doctorate visiting scholar at the Center for Advanced Materials Technology at the University of Sydney in Australia from April 2001 to May 2003, a senior research engineer from 1996 to 2001 and a research engineer from 1990 to 1996 at the Institute of Resin Processing and Application, Qilu Petroleum Company in Shandong, China and an assistant lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at Henan Normal University in Henan, China from July 1984 to August 1987. Dr. Wang is an inventor on several U.S. and foreign patent applications, and he has contributed to three books published in the United States, Korea and Australia and has written or contributed to over thirty journal papers. Dr. Wang received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Zhengzhou University in Zhengzhou, China, a Master of Science degree in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China, and a Ph.D. degree in Polymer Chemistry and Physics from Zhongshan University in Guangzhou, China.

Prior to his appointment as Director of Advanced Material Applications, Mr. Leys had been Director of Research and Development of Park since January 2007 and Director of Technology of Park from April 1990 to January 2007. Prior to joining Park, Mr. Leys had been Technology Manager at Hercules Incorporated from August 1985 to April 1990; and prior to 1985 he had been a process engineer at The Mica Corp. from June 1983 to January 1985 and at Fortin Laminators from February 1982 to June 1983 and held various positions with Fortin Laminators from 1972 to 1982. Mr. Leys received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from National University in San Diego, California.
