Aruba Networks' 802.11n High-Speed Wireless LAN Wins 2009 Internet Telephony Excellence Award

SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - November 24, 2009) - Aruba Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: [ ARUN ]), a global leader in wireless LANs and secure mobility solutions, today announced that its 802.11n high-speed wireless LAN has won a 2009 INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award from Technology Marketing Corporation's (TMC) "INTERNET TELEPHONY" magazine. The award was based on Aruba's 802.11n deployment at the Boston Medical Center, a 626-bed hospital and academic medical center located in Boston's historic South End. Aruba's 802.11n solution provided a flexible wireless infrastructure on which the hospital could reliably and securely deliver clinical data, Vocera voice, and guest Internet access applications.

Aruba offers a wide range of 802.11n solutions including the recently announced, value-priced AP-105 Access Point and the top-of-the-line 3x3 MIMO AP-124/125 802.11n Access Points. To ensure that wireless devices work at peak performance at all times, Aruba's Adaptive Radio Management (ARM) technology automatically optimizes Wi-Fi performance even in challenging RF environments. By automating site surveys and using infrastructure-based controls to optimize the performance of Wi-Fi clients in real-time, ARM helps ensure that applications have sufficient network resources, including airtime, to operate reliably. ARM works in tandem with Aruba's policy-enforcement firewall, Quality of Service controls, and traffic management features to enable data, voice, video, nurse call, telemetry, and guest traffic to run simultaneously over a commonly shared Wi-Fi infrastructure yet perform as if using dedicated networks.

ARM has been demonstrated to increase 802.11n throughput by more than 200 percent in a mixed-client network (see Farpoint Group white paper "[ Advances In Wireless Infrastructure Control ]"), and to enable the simultaneous transmission of 15 or more high-definition video channels over 802.11n at sites such as Liberty University.
