  • Scientists have developed a cow-milking solution that could revolutionize the agricultural industry, making the process much more efficient. According to a recent article published in Phys.org, researchers at the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR) have created a solar-powered device that dramatically reduces the time it takes to milk a cow.

Researchers at the University of Freiburg in Germany have developed a solar-powered cow collar designed to enhance the welfare of dairy cows. This innovative device, known as the "Cowlar," integrates solar panels to power sensors that monitor the cow's health, activity, and location in real-time. The collar collects data on the cow's movement, rumination, and other behaviors, which can help farmers detect early signs of illness or stress, thereby improving animal welfare and farm efficiency. The solar power aspect ensures that the device remains operational without the need for frequent battery replacements, making it both eco-friendly and cost-effective. This technology represents a significant step forward in precision livestock farming, where technology aids in the detailed monitoring and management of individual animals.
