A recent report has identified the Australian animal responsible for the most human deaths, and surprisingly, it's not the notorious creatures like sharks, snakes, or spiders, but the horse. According to the data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics, horses have caused 74 deaths over the last decade, primarily through incidents like falls or being kicked or trampled. This number significantly outpaces deaths from more feared animals; for instance, snakes and crocodiles each caused 16 deaths, while sharks were responsible for 14. The report highlights that while Australia is known for its dangerous wildlife, everyday interactions with horses pose a greater risk to human life than encounters with traditionally feared animals.
