Kasturirangan's contributions to space science will be remembered always: Kerala Guv

Thiruvananthapuram, Apr 25 (PTI) Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on Friday said former ISRO chairperson K Kasturirangan, who passed away earlier in the day, will always be remembered for his contributions to space science. Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan paid tribute to the late K. Kasturirangan, a distinguished space scientist and former chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), highlighting his significant contributions to space science and his role in shaping India's space program. Khan emphasized that Kasturirangan's work would be remembered eternally, particularly noting his leadership in the development of the Indian National Satellite (INSAT) system and the Indian Remote Sensing (IRS) satellites, which have been crucial for communication, weather forecasting, and resource management in India. The Governor's remarks were made during a condolence meeting held at the Raj Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram, where he also acknowledged Kasturirangan's influence on educational reforms and his contributions to national policy-making as a member of the Rajya Sabha and the Planning Commission.
