This exhibit features root-based artwork from eight Illinois artists, one of which calls Rockford home.
The new outdoor exhibit at Klehm Arboretum, titled "The Science and Art of Trees," opened on June 7, 2025, and combines scientific and artistic elements to educate visitors about trees. The exhibit features interactive displays that explain the biology and ecology of trees, alongside art installations that highlight their aesthetic value. Local artists and scientists collaborated to create this unique experience, which includes guided tours, workshops, and special events aimed at fostering a deeper appreciation for nature. The exhibit is set to run through the end of October 2025 and is free with general admission to the arboretum.
