NASA astronaut Donald Pettit, during his time on the International Space Station (ISS), invented a unique cup designed for drinking coffee in zero gravity. Traditional cups don't work in space due to the lack of gravity to pull the liquid down, leading to floating blobs of liquid. Pettit's cup, known as the Capillary Cup, utilizes capillary action to draw the coffee up the walls of the cup, allowing astronauts to drink it without it floating away.
